Sockeye City Diner

There were two of us so we ordered the platter, I really only like Halibut, so we ordered an extra piece, we asked if the calamari could come first as otherwise the food would get cold, we were told no..... it's a platter. Fair enough we thought, the service was very slow, we waited a long time for our food, my husband finally got his glass of water with the meal.
Our food came on what I would call a cake stand, two tiers, the soggy calamari could have absolutely been brought out when it was ready instead of it sitting there waiting for the rest to be done.
The calamari was probably the worst I have had in my life, white pasty looking, skinny strands of rubber with no taste, soggy from the fat not being hot enough.
We asked which was the halibut, the girl said I don't know, I can probably tell if I cut into it....yes so could we, not the point. We picked the batter off all the fish, as it too was soggy and mushy the slight taste it had was from old oil. The tartar sauce, and seafood sauce was severely lacking something....ah yes flavor. We paid our $70 and left, the only thing we took away with us from this experience was the knowledge that we would never eat there again, even if it was free.

This place has the BEST deep fried prawns. You get an excellent portion size for your money.

Food was mediocre at best and service average. Not a warm atmosphere. We had to pass by the back of the restaurant on the way to the car and found it was very shoddy.
